
Meet Keio
Born in 1976 at Parkland Memorial Hospital, a true Dallas native, Keio Gamble grew up with humble beginnings in South Dallas and Oak Cliff. He spent his elementary years in South Dallas, attending John Henry Brown and Charles Rice elementary schools. Then, in 1984, his family moved to Joppy (also known as Joppa), one of the oldest Freedman communities in Dallas. During that time, he spent the 7th grade at St. Mark’s School of Texas and the 8th grade at O.W. Holmes Middle School. In 1992, he and his family moved to Highland Hills in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas.
Keio graduated from Wilmer-Hutchins High School in May 1994 with the highest of honors. Voted as Mr. Hutch, elected Student Council President, and appointed by coaches as one of the captains of the football, baseball, and powerlifting teams; Keio left a remarkable memory as a champion in academics, athletics, excellence, leadership, and service.
As a collegiate scholar, Keio is a notable and proud alumnus of Prairie View A&M University (1994-1998) and the University of North Texas at Dallas (2017-2019), holding Bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Business, respectively.
Keio Gamble is an honorably discharged veteran that served in the United States Army from 1996 – 2004 as a Medical Supply Specialist (76J), Chemical Operations Specialist (54B), and Unit Supply Specialist (92Y), with assignments at Ft. Leonard Wood (St. Robert, Missouri), Ft. Sam Houston (San Antonio, Texas), Ft. Eustis (Newport News, Virginia), 94th Combat Support/General Hospital (Seagoville, Texas), and 348th Transportation Battalion (Houston, Texas).
In 2018, he was presented with an Honorary Doctorate degree in Humanities from the Texas Bible Institute & Seminary as recognition for his dedication and unselfish, hard work in the community.
In 2020, Keio continued his studies as a law student at the University of North Texas at Dallas - College of Law. Currently, he is completing his Master’s in Business Administration at Prairie View A&M University.
In business, Keio Gamble is an accomplished entrepreneur, a best-selling author, in-demand business consultant, and highly sought after professional/motivational speaker. He was a featured speaker on the international stage of TEDx as an expert in personal development. He’s also an award-winning spokesperson and brand ambassador for numerous organizations.
Keio is recognized by the State of Texas and the Texas Mediator Credentialing Association as a Credentialed/Certified Mediator and expert negotiator with valuable experience in reaching practical solutions to real life problems. Mr. Gamble is an award-winning Conflict Resolution Specialist. He is also a member of the American Bar Association – Dispute Resolution Section.

Mr. Gamble is also the founder of Keio’s House, one of the community's most valuable housing resources; providing viable housing options for veterans on low/fixed income, retired, disabled, disadvantaged, disenfranchised, the homeless, and individuals in danger of being homeless. Keio’s House is a group of boarding and transitional homes that provide an affordable and independent living facility for men and women that serves as an escape from the grip of homelessness by allowing individuals the opportunity to create and maintain stable lives. Through the process of experiencing his own need for self-assessment and self-evaluation, he saw it fitting to write and self-publish “LUCKY BY CHOICE: The 52 Laws of Making Successful, Life-Changing Decisions”, which was released in May 2017, and now a best-seller.
As a life coach and mentor, Keio Gamble is dedicated to inspiring, empowering, and guiding those in need of positive direction to curb the thought process that creates bad decisions and to mitigate the damage that comes from destructive behavior.
After hosting a number of riveting, community panel discussions between the years of 2018 - 2023, Keio founded The State of the Black Man as a nonprofit organization in 2024 with the commitment to steer the dialogue that aims to reshape the trajectory of the African-American community by raising the awareness and discussing the issues that plague their livelihoods. Through self-correction, unity, and community collaboration, The State of the Black Man provides solutions and resources to overcome socioeconomic barriers and aid in improving the status, perception, and quality of life for the Black man, his family, and community. In honor for, recognition of, and gratitude towards his tireless hard work and unwavering sacrifice in the community, on November 9, 2024, the La Monarca Foundation bestowed and conferred the naming of a garden and park in his name, The Keio Gamble Community Garden and Park. It is located in the heart of the Mountain Creek Apartments in the Highland Hills area of Oak Cliff in Dallas, Texas.
In December 2024, keep was chosen as the Humanitarian of the Year by the Dallas Chapter of the NAACP.
Mr. Gamble is a distinguished member and prolific leader in the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. as a past President of the North Texas Metroplex Ques and past Basileus (President) of his undergraduate and graduate chapters where he has membership. He is also the recipient of the Bridge Builder Award in 2019, the Superior Service Award in 2020 and 2022, and the Omega Man of the Year Award in 2021, among many other recognitions.
Keio Gamble is also a leader in Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rite Freemasonry. He has served as Worshipful Master (Local Lodge), Grand Master (State Lodge), and now serves as a Sovereign Grand Master (National Lodge). He holds membership as a Patron in the Order of the Eastern Star; and membership /degrees in other appendant bodies of Freemasonry.
With hundreds of recognitions and accolades, Keio Gamble is a heavily awarded, highly decorated businessman and community leader.
However, he says his greatest accomplishment is being a father, a friend, and a family pillar.
Keio believes that the revelation of self-worth is too prevalent and powerful of a phenomenon to overlook. He is committed to his theory that progressive transformation through self-revelation, mental expansion, and personal development are the keys to life’s success that awaits every man, woman, boy, or girl.
Lastly, as a true servant leader, Keio says that his key to success is to serve more than you lead. His favorite quote is, “If Service Is Beneath You, Then Leadership Is Beyond You.”
